Lincoln Park Conservation Committee, El Paso, Texas
The Lincoln Park Conservation Committee is a non-profit group of hard working fire fighters, law enforcement officials, artists, community activists, writers, and other talented volunteers. The LPCC aims to preserve El Paso's unique Lincoln Park, a park gifted with plush green grass and amazing artistic murals painted on dozens of its pillars right under the Spaghetti Bowl freeway overpass. Lincoln Park is a safe and relaxing place where people may bring their family, friends and grills to enjoy a pleasant morning, serene afternoon or cool evening in the central heart of El Paso.
The LPCC also provides local community groups and agencies with space at the parks 'Lincoln Park Day' car and art show held every year. The annual event was modeled around the “Chicano Park Day” event held annually at San Diego, California that features art and community booths. Some of the exhibitors to participate in the Lincoln Park Day include: the National Marrow Donor program, the American Cancer Society, the Police Department Explorers from the El Paso Central Command, El Paso Fire Department and the United States Marine Corp.
